England’s Second Lockdown Kicks Off November 5

England is back under lockdown from Thursday, 5th November until Wednesday, 2nd December 2020. Brace yourselves – life is about to change again.

What’s Shutting Down?

  • All non-essential shops and retail must close their doors.
  • Hairdressers and gyms are out of action.
  • Pubs and leisure facilities will be off-limits.
  • Clothes shops will close up shop.

Rules for the Rest of Us

You’re urged to stay home and only venture out for essentials. These include:

  • Education – schools remain open.
  • Food shopping – stock up smartly.
  • Work – but only if working from home isn’t an option.

Online shopping is still fair game, so you can keep ordering from your sofa.

Help for Hard-Up Workers

The government’s furlough scheme won’t vanish – it’s extended through December to help those hit hardest by the shutdown.
