Predatory Rapist Scott Mucklow Jailed for Attacking Two Teenage Girls
Scott Mucklow, 29, of Denham Way, Camber, was sentenced at Brighton Crown Court on Thursday, 24 February. He was convicted of raping a 14-year-old girl at his home back in 2009. He also raped another girl aged between 16 and 17 on three separate occasions years later – once at an address in Lydd, Kent, and twice at his own home.
Life on Sex Offenders Register for Mucklow
Mucklow will remain a registered sex offender for life. He was cleared of coercive and controlling conduct against his second victim. Detective Constable Paul Harrison from East Sussex Safeguarding Investigations described Mucklow as a “predatory and oppressive exploiter” of the two young girls.
Victims’ Courage Leads to Justice
“Mucklow had seen his first victim near his home. Though several years older, he persuaded her to come back to his place, where he raped her. She only felt able to report the abuse in 2017,” said DC Harrison.
“He later formed a relationship with the second victim and raped her multiple times. She initially supported him, unaware of his past offending. But after escaping the relationship and reflecting on her own abuse, she came forward. Their brave testimonies helped us bring him to justice.”
This sentencing underlines the police’s commitment to tracking down abusers and backing victims through the process.
