Predator Michael France Jailed for 31 Years Over Child Sex Abuse
Michael France, 42, from Sandyfields View, Skellow, was slammed with a minimum 31-year prison sentence at Sheffield Crown Court earlier this year. The vile offender was found guilty of 14 shocking sexual offences against two victims, including rape and sexual assault of children under 13.
Horrific Crimes Spanning South & North Yorkshire
The twisted crimes unfolded across North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, and Humberside. A joint police investigation launched in 2019 after the first brave victim came forward. As the case grew, a second victim also stepped forward to reveal France’s horrifying abuse during their childhood.
Life on Sex Offenders Register & Sexual Harm Order
Alongside the lengthy jail term, France must sign the Sex Offenders Register for life and is subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. He showed no remorse, denying all charges and forcing his victims to relive their trauma during a gruelling trial.
Police Praise Victims’ Bravery
Detective Sergeant David Adams, lead investigator, said: “This has been one of the most disturbing cases of sexual abuse I have ever encountered. “I have great respect for the bravery of both victims. They faced horrific abuse as children and gave evidence with dignity and strength. “Their courage has put France firmly behind bars and saved future victims from his depravity.”
Temporary Detective Sergeant Melissa Green of South Yorkshire Police added: “France denied the allegations and implied his victims were lying. These children – one now an adult – showed incredible bravery to come forward and report years of abuse. “We commend the victims for their courage and urge others to come forward so we can bring more offenders to justice.”
Justice has finally been served. Michael France will rot in prison for his monstrous crimes, while police continue to encourage victims to speak out.
