Man Charged with Murder After Fatal Motorcycle Crash on B3089
Paul Barrett, 42, from White Road, Mere, has been charged with murder following the death of a 43-year-old motorcyclist on the B3089 last Wednesday evening around 7pm. Barrett is set to appear at swindon/" title="Swindon" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 27th December.
Police Praise Team Effort in Murder Charge
Detective Inspector Simon Childe, lead investigator on the case, expressed his condolences to the victim’s family. He said, “I would like to offer my sincere condolences and reassure the family they will receive ongoing support from our specialist officers.”
Det Insp Childe added, “This charge is the result of tireless work by the Major Crime Investigation Team and all areas of Wiltshire Police.”

The B3089 was briefly shut again during the week as officers continued their inquiries. “I’d like to thank the local community for their support and patience throughout this investigation,” said Childe.
