Salford Predator Busted with Shocking Child Abuse Images
Carlos Calcano, from Colman Gardens, Salford, has been slammed with 23 charges, including sexual communication with children, forcing kids to watch sex acts, and encouraging them to take part. On top of this, he was caught distributing vile child abuse images found on his devices.
Judge Slams Calcano with Nearly Seven Years Behind Bars
The Dominican Republic-born Calcano, who’s lived in the UK for years, was sentenced to six years and 10 months in prison at Manchester Crown Court on 9 April 2021. The sentence was cut by four months after judges factored in time he’d spent under police watch while on bail.
GMP Shocked by Thousands of Horrific Images
Greater Manchester Police’s Sexual Crime Unit swooped on Calcano’s home, seizing numerous computers. Inside, officers uncovered a sickening haul:
- 2,095 Category A images (the worst kind showing penetrative sexual abuse)
- 1,210 Category B images
- 11,687 Category C images (sexualised pictures of children)
“GMP officers viewed a vast amount of material in this case,” said Detective Constable Ceri Martin. “These images included some of the most extreme images viewed by law enforcement.”
“We found screen recordings of his abuse and reviewed over 48,000 clips.”
Disturbing Evidence of On-the-Spot Grooming
Further investigation revealed Calcano was actively communicating with young children while viewing the worst abuse footage. He even incited kids to commit sexual acts, highlighting the chilling scale of his crimes.
