Swindon Man, 21, Pleads Guilty to Rape After Targeting Guest
Angus Corrie, 21, from Drove Road, Swindon, has admitted raping and orally raping a woman in the early hours of October 30 last year.
Victim Targeted Following Night Out
Corrie assaulted the victim, who had been visiting his home with two friends after a night out. Despite her repeated refusals, he forced himself on her before she managed to escape to the bathroom.
Police Praise Victim’s Courage
The victim contacted police the same day. Officers quickly arrested Corrie and held him in custody.
Detective Constable Chris Hughes said: “This incident has had a traumatic and devastating impact on the victim, and I want to pay tribute to her for showing the strength in coming to the police and reporting to us what had happened.”
“She repeatedly asked Corrie to stop, but he refused and committed one of the most horrendous acts a person can do to another.”
“I am pleased that he pleaded guilty to this offence, sparing the victim from having to relive the experience in court.”
“I urge anyone who has faced similar situations to come forward. You will be believed and supported by specially trained officers.”
“We will investigate thoroughly and do everything possible to bring offenders to justice.”
