Granny Killed by Dogs in Horror Garden Attack
Lucille Downer, 85, tragically died after being mauled by dogs in her own garden in Boundary Avenue, Rowley Regis, on Friday 2 April 2021.
Despite desperate efforts by a family member and neighbours to save her, she was confirmed dead at the scene.
Owner Faces Court Over Fatal Dog Attack
Darren Pritchard, 44, from Smethwick, has pleaded guilty at wolverhampton-crown-court/" title="Wolverhampton Crown Court" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="929">Wolverhampton Crown Court to owning dogs that were dangerously out of control and caused a death. He also admitted possession with intent to supply and production of cannabis.
Pritchard was granted conditional bail but is due back in court on 15 May. He’s been warned to expect a jail sentence.
Dogs Destroyed After Fatal Attack
The two dogs involved were handed over voluntarily to the police after the attack. Experts ruled they were too dangerous to rehome and they were humanely put down.
