Man Charged with Two Murders in Kent and Sussex
Mark Brown, 40, from Squirrel Close, St Leonards, faces murder charges over two women. He was first charged on 28 November 2021 with killing Alexandra Morgan, 34, a mother-of-two from Sissinghurst, Kent.
On 1 February 2022, Brown faced an additional charge for the murder of Leah Ware, 33, from Hastings. Leah has been missing since May 2021.
Court Appearance and Pleas
Brown appeared at Lewes Crown Court on 4 February. He pleaded not guilty to Alexandra Morgan’s murder but didn’t enter a plea for Leah Ware’s case. He was remanded in custody and will return to court on 25 March.
Victims and Ongoing Investigation
- Alexandra Morgan was last seen at a petrol station in Cranbrook on 14 November 2021. Her remains have since been found.
- Leah Ware disappeared around 7 May 2021. Despite extensive searches, she remains missing.
The cases are being investigated jointly by Kent Police and Sussex Police and have now been linked officially. A trial date will be set in due course.
