Knife-Wielding Burglar Caught Red-Handed in Cotmanhay
A 35-year-old man was spotted trying to break into a house in Rodney Way, Cotmanhay, at around 11.20pm on Monday 7 March.
Armed and Dangerous
The suspect fiddled with the door handle, pushing and pulling, before bolting when the homeowner confronted him. The owner noticed the man was carrying a knife, which he then threw to the ground.
Police Descend and Arrest
Officers arrived shortly after and arrested the man on suspicion of attempted burglary and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, assault, and importing a prohibited weapon.
The 35-year-old remains in police custody as inquiries continue.
