Man Arrested Over Early Morning House Blaze in Westergate
At around 6.20am on Thursday, emergency services rushed to a house fire on St Richards Road, Westergate. Thankfully, no one was inside at the time, and no injuries were reported.
Deliberate Fire Sparks Police Hunt
Investigators confirmed the fire was started deliberately. Quick police action led to the arrest of a man suspected of arson with intent to endanger life. He is also held on suspicion of carrying a knife or sharp object in public.

The man has been released on conditional bail as enquiries continue. Police urge anyone who saw the incident or noticed suspicious behaviour to come forward.
