Man Arrested Over Early Morning Fire in Westergate
Emergency services rushed to a house fire on St Richards Road, Westergate, at around 6.20am on Thursday, April 22. Thankfully, the property was empty and no one was hurt.
Arson Suspected, Knife Possession Charge Added
Investigations revealed the blaze was started deliberately. Police swiftly arrested a man on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. He also faces charges for carrying a knife blade or sharp object in public.

The suspect has been released on conditional bail while inquiries continue. Police urge anyone who witnessed the incident or suspicious activity nearby to come forward.
