Man Charged After Knife Attack in Sheerness

A Sheerness man has been hit with assault charges following a violent incident on Invicta Road.

Victim Slashed in Evening Assault

At around 8:40pm on 26 June 2020, police and ambulance crews were called to reports of an assault in Sheerness. A man was found with a slash wound to his arm and was rushed to a local hospital. Fortunately, he was later discharged after treatment.

Suspect Arrested and Charged

Just an hour later, officers arrested Shaun Packer, 55, from Victoria Street, Sheerness. He faces charges of assault causing actual bodily harm and possessing a knife or sharp object in public.

Court Appearance and Next Steps

Packer appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 29 June. He was remanded ahead of a Crown Court hearing in Maidstone set for 27 July.

Kent Police continue their investigation.
