Police on patrol in Chatham High Street spotted a suspicious man at 4.45pm on Sunday, April 16, 2023.
Suspecting drug dealing, officers stopped and searched him—and shockingly found a machete and a combat-style knife hidden in his backpack.
Knife Arsenal Found in Public
Keegan Mascarenhas, 18, from Appledore Road, Gillingham, was immediately arrested on the spot.
Charged and Bailed
Mascarenhas now faces charges of possessing a bladed weapon in a public place.
He was bailed and is set to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, May 24.
