Nottingham Chase Ends in Arrest After Erratic Vauxhall Spotted

Neighbourhood officers on patrol in Nottingham clocked a Vauxhall Astra driving erratically along London Road on Thursday afternoon (4 May 2023).
Suspect Flees, Then Bails Car
The driver ignored police signals to stop and sped off into The Meadows. Moments later, they abandoned the car on Collygate Road and took off on foot.
Arrest Made, Drugs and Knife Found
Police quickly caught the suspect nearby. Inside the Astra, officers discovered cannabis and a large knife.
Charged: Zain Ahmad Faces Multiple Offences
Zain Ahmad, from Wilford Crescent East, The Meadows, has been hit with charges including failing to stop, driving without a licence, and carrying illegal items.
“Educating people about the dangers of knife crime and illegal drugs remains one of our top priorities,” said a police spokesperson. “I’m pleased we’ve charged this suspect and hope it sends a clear message: knife crime and drug offences won’t be tolerated in Nottingham.”
