Knife-Wielding Thief Busted After Assault in Canterbury Shop Raid
Kent Police Called to St Dunstans Street Shoplifting
Kent Police rushed to a shop in St Dunstans Street at 10pm on Sunday, 26 November 2023 after a shoplifting alert. Two men reportedly teamed up to steal items from the store before one launched an attack on a staff member.
Suspect Nabbed Near Scene
Officers swiftly responded and caught one of the suspects nearby following their investigation at the scene. The man was taken into custody without delay.
Multiple Charges for 20-Year-Old John Gould
John Gould, 20, from Whitstable Road, Canterbury, faces a slew of charges. These include theft, assault, possession of a knife, cannabis, criminal damage, and a public order offence.
He has been granted bail ahead of his court appearance at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 2 January 2024.
