Man Jailed After Girlfriend Killed in Shocking Car Crash

Jordan Moore, 27, from Dickenson Close, N9, has been sentenced to 10 months in prison for dangerous driving that led to the death of his girlfriend, Ariola Hoxhaj. The Wood Green Crown Court handed down the sentence on Wednesday, 18 March, adding another 10 months on licence after his release.

Tragic Crash on Great Cambridge Road

The fatal crash happened just before midnight on Monday, 12 November 2018. Ariola, 26, a mother from Enfield, lost control of her white Mercedes A250 hatchback which smashed into a tree on the south bank carriageway of Great Cambridge Road, Enfield EN1. She suffered catastrophic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police and emergency services arrived swiftly, with fire crews needing specialist gear to free Ariola from the wreckage. Her car was so badly damaged it was embedded in the tree.

Speeding Convoy Ends in Horror

Investigators found Moore and Ariola had been driving separate white Mercedes cars—Moore in a CLA45 AMG Saloon, Ariola in the A250—speeding well above the 40mph limit.

Witnesses said Moore’s vehicle continued down the road briefly before being parked as if to hide it, then he returned to the crash site. Moore initially claimed he didn’t know who the other driver was.

Justice for Ariola and Her Family

Moore was cleared of causing death by dangerous driving but convicted of dangerous driving. He’s banned from driving for two years and 10 months, must take an extended re-test, and his Mercedes AMG, worth about £37,000, has been confiscated.

“A child will grow up without a mother and a man is behind bars thanks to a moment of madness,” said Detective Sergeant Jose Qureshi from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit. “I urge all drivers to be considerate and careful to spare other families the misery Ariola’s family has endured.”
