Man Found Guilty of Rape After Woman Heard Crying for Help
Portsmouth Crown Court has convicted Levi Seriki-Walters, 35, of raping a woman in her 20s after she was heard crying for help in the early hours of 27 August 2020.
Distress Calls Lead Police to Crime Scene
At around 1.40am, police were called to a commercial car park near The Anchorage following reports from witnesses who heard a woman’s desperate cries. Officers found the distressed victim, who revealed she had been physically assaulted and raped by a man she knew.
CCTV and Forensics Seal the Case
- CCTV footage captured Seriki-Walters chasing the woman from the scene.
- Forensic evidence confirmed the rape.
- Seriki-Walters, currently of no fixed address, denied all charges despite the overwhelming evidence.
The case went to trial on 4 April. After around two and a half hours of jury deliberation on 12 April, Seriki-Walters was found guilty. He remains in custody and is set for sentencing on 10 May.
