Nottingham Drug Dealer Nabbed with Class A Haul Hidden in Shoes

Police swooped on Mansfield Road in Nottingham city centre after tip-off intelligence. They pulled over a Citroen C3 and spotted the driver dropping a black cloth bag as he stepped out.

A swift search uncovered a stash of suspected class A drugs cunningly hidden in the man’s shoes and on his person. Forensic tests later confirmed the haul included cocaine and diamorphine.

Cash, Phone, and More Drugs Found in Radford Property

The driver, Aban Ahmed, initially gave fake details before being identified. Officers searched his home on Independent Street, Radford, where they seized a quantity of MDMA as well as cash and a mobile phone.

Three Years Behind Bars for 33-Year-Old Drug Offender

Ahmed, 33, of Independent Street, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. Nottingham Crown Court handed him a three-year prison sentence on Friday, 4 March 2022.

Police Constable Rebekah Jackson said: “This was great work by officers who, using their instincts and intelligence, stopped Aban. The quantity and type of drugs found made it clear he planned to distribute and sell to the community.”

“These class A substances are highly illegal, addictive, and seriously harm health. They often link to organised crime, which is why we act swiftly on reports and intelligence to get them off our streets.”

“I’m pleased officers stopped Ahmed in his tracks and that the courts recognised the seriousness with a custodial sentence. I hope this sends a strong message—drug crime will not be tolerated, and those involved will face justice.”
