Drug Dealer Arthur Salmon Jailed for 13 Years in £3.6M Cocaine Bust
Arthur Salmon, 51, with no fixed address, was slammed with a 13-year prison sentence at St Albans Crown Court on Monday, 24 April. The court found him guilty of supplying Class A drugs, following his conviction on 27 January at the same court.
Massive Cocaine Stash Found in Tring
On 24 February 2022, around 2pm, Met officers spotted Salmon loading cardboard boxes between a van and a car in Mill View Road, Tring. As he moved the third box, police swooped and arrested him.
A search revealed each box held 10 one-kilogram blocks of cocaine. The haul had a wholesale value of around £1 million, with a street value potentially soaring to £3.6 million.
Van Modified to Hide Drugs – Burner Phones Discovered
Salmon claimed he didn’t know what was inside the boxes. But officers also found two burner phones on him. A van search uncovered adaptations designed to conceal large quantities of drugs, confirming his deep involvement.
Detective Constable Jack Brackley, Specialist Crime Command, said: “There is a proven link between drugs and violent crime. Too often shootings and stabbings are tied to drug supply networks. We’re committed to stopping this and I’m glad Salmon has been handed a custodial sentence.”
“We can’t tackle drug supply alone. We need communities to come forward with information. Tips can be given directly to the police or anonymously via Crimestoppers.”
Second Man Cleared After Trial
A second suspect, charged in connection with the same investigation, was found not guilty following a trial.
