Paedophile Shaun Healy Jailed for 10 Years Over Years of Child Abuse
Horrific Abuse Spanned Four Years
Shaun Healy, 73, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexually abusing a young girl between 2016 and 2020. The abuse started when the victim was under 13 years old.
Police were alerted to the horrific crimes in March 2020. After a thorough investigation, Healy, formerly of Maynard Close, Gosport, faced court on multiple charges.
Justice Served with a Lengthy Sentence
On Friday 14 January, the court handed down a 10-year prison sentence to Healy, along with a five-year extended licence period, reflecting the gravity of his offences.
Detective Praises Victim’s Bravery
“This was a shocking and prolonged period of sexual abuse perpetrated against a child,” said DC Marie Todd. “The bravery shown by the girl in this case has been outstanding. I want to commend her for having the courage to speak out and help bring Healy to justice.”
