Stalker Jailed for Horrific Campaign of Terror Against Ex

Misbah Ali, 22, from Tower Hamlets, has been locked up for two years after stalking and sharing private sexual images of his ex. The Snaresbrook Crown Court hit him with a five-year restraining order banning him from contacting or even mentioning the victim on social media.

Twisted Obsession Turns Into Nightmare

What started as a brief fling quickly spiralled into a months-long horror show for the victim. Between December 2019 and March 2020, Ali relentlessly stalked and harassed her, following her from home to university. He bombarded her with threatening messages and publicly posted intimate photos on Twitter.

He even brazenly trespassed into her garden, filming a creepy video inspecting her bedroom window. The woman was left terrified by his behaviour.

Violence and Vandalism Escalate

In February 2020, Ali smashed her car’s rear window with a brick, sending a chilling message: “Wys ‘bout the car if you snake more shit will happen don’t block man.”

Not content to just threaten, Ali physically attacked her near her home, putting her in a headlock and demanding to know why she had blocked him on social media.

Final Confrontation Ends in Assault

The nightmare peaked in March when Ali caught the victim at university. Furious she refused to unblock him or give her new phone number, he snatched her phone and laptop, slammed them into her head, flipped a table, and strangled her.

Detective Sergeant Lee Gordon slammed Ali’s “torrent of hate,” adding:

“His fixation caused serious distress. He showed blatant disregard for her safety and made false allegations to police, trying to ruin her life.”

He urged other victims of stalking and harassment to come forward: “I hope this sentence brings her some comfort.”
