Aylesbury Man Jailed for Brutal Assaults and Vile Messages
Dean Callum, 56, from Weedon Road, Aylesbury, has been locked up for four years with an extra year on extended licence. The sentence was handed down at Aylesbury Crown Court after a shocking crime spree spanning six years.
Found Guilty of Multiple Assaults and Sending Menacing Messages
Back in November 2020, Callum was unanimously found guilty of three counts of assault causing actual bodily harm and one count of sending offensive and menacing messages via a public network. The offences took place between 2012 and 2018, leaving his victim with serious injuries, including widespread bruising.
Unlimited Restraining Order Issued
In addition to his prison sentence, Callum was slapped with an unlimited restraining order, barring any contact with the victim. He was first arrested in December 2018 and charged almost a year later in October 2019.
Police Praise Victim’s Bravery
Detective Constable Bushra Sheikh of Aylesbury police station said: “Callum is a dangerous offender and I am pleased he has received a significant sentence reflecting the severity of his crimes. I also commend the victim for her bravery in coming forward and her support throughout this investigation.”
