Young Knife Attacker Jailed for 12 Years in Alton
Samuel Jinks, 18, from Partridge Green in Alton, has been handed a hefty 12-year prison sentence for stabbing a man in a shocking April 2021 attack. The youngster pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm and possession of a bladed article at 1 Crown Court on 7 July.
Stabbing Incident in Alleyway
The terrifying assault happened in a narrow alley between Partridge 1 and Yellowhammers after an argument turned violent. Jinks stabbed the victim in the abdomen, causing a serious puncture wound. Thankfully, the victim made a full recovery following hospital treatment.
Additional Jail Time for Threats and Knife Possession
Jinks also received nine months for threatening someone with a blade and another month for possession of a bladed article. These sentences will run at the same time as his 12-year term.
Police Praise Swift Justice
Detective Constable Peter Watson said: “This is an act of violence that could have had more severe consequences. Jinks was arrested very soon after committing this offence, and I hope this offers reassurance to the community that he has been brought to justice.”
“Alton is a safe place to live and work, but we do not rest on our laurels. We will continue working hard to detect and prevent such high harm offences. Knife crime is utterly unacceptable, and I am pleased with the result of the court hearing today.”
