Just after midnight on Saturday, cops rushed to West Street, Harwich, after reports of a fight.
Two Officers Assaulted on Duty
While trying to control the scene, two police officers were reportedly attacked by the crowd.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
Michael Richmond, 35, from Harcourt Avenue, Harwich, was arrested at the scene. He now faces two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and one count of threatening to damage or destroy property.
Next Stop: Court
Richmond is set to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court tomorrow to face the charges.
