Violent Suspect Charged After Officers Attacked in Medway High Street
Police On Patrol Spot Suspected CBO Breach
On Monday 30 October 2023, two constables on patrol in Medway’s High Street spotted a man believed to be ignoring his criminal behaviour order (CBO).
Violent Struggle Leaves Officer Seriously Injured
After detaining the suspect, one officer was pushed to the ground, suffering a serious hand injury. The second officer was also assaulted during the incident.
Suspect Charged With Multiple Offences
The man, 30-year-old Stephan Topliss, of no fixed address, was charged by the Medway Victim Based Crime Team with:
- Grievous bodily harm
- Assault by beating
- Resisting arrest
- Public order offence
- Breaching his criminal behaviour order
Topliss was remanded in custody and appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 31 October.
