Peckham Murder Shock: Killer Caught in Two Weeks
19-Year-Old Arrested After Fatal Stabbing
Police swiftly nabbed Yusuf Kallon, 19, just two weeks after the fatal stabbing of Rohan Trotman in Peckham last year. Detectives worked relentlessly to bring him to justice.
Phone Dumped, CCTV Hunt Reveals Truth
A court heard how Kallon tried to cover his tracks by ditching his phone minutes after the brutal attack. But cops spent hundreds of hours sifting through CCTV footage to identify him as the prime suspect.
Desperate Escape Plans Uncovered
Detectives also uncovered frantic efforts by Kallon to flee the country. He made credit card payments to a Spanish holiday firm, booked a flight to Sierra Leone, and even fast-tracked a new passport—all attempts to slip away from the law.
Convicted of Murder and Robbery
On Monday 3 June, a jury found Kallon guilty of murder and two counts of robbery. However, he was cleared of possession of an offensive weapon. Sentencing is set for 28 June at the same court.
