Arson Fiend Sparks Blaze in Chippenham Flat!
James Parker, 38, from Queens Square, Chippenham, has been slammed with a tough sentence after setting fire to a flat in a shocking arson attack.
Deliberate Fire Tears Through Upstairs Flat
On August 8th, Parker recklessly ignited a blaze that ripped through an upstairs apartment in a block of six flats at Queens Square. The fire caused extensive damage and could have ended in tragedy.
Serious Charges and Court Sentence
Parker pleaded guilty to arson, reckless endangerment, and criminal damage at an earlier hearing. Swindon Crown Court handed down his sentence on December 9th. His punishment was lessened due to an early guilty plea and mental health considerations, but still reflected the gravity of the crime.
Police Warn: No Tolerance for Community Threats
“Parker deliberately started a fire in a block of six flats,” said DC Hannah Agate from Wiltshire Police CID. “Besides the huge damage, there was a real risk someone could have been seriously hurt or killed. Thankfully, no one was harmed. We will always robustly pursue those who put our community in danger.”
