Drunken Assault Outside KFC Lands Man in Jail
Afeez Adeyemi, 58, of The Broadway, Woking, has been sentenced to 12 months behind bars for a brutal unprovoked attack outside a KFC in Woking.
Victim and Daughter Targeted in Late-Night Attack
The shocking incident unfolded in the early hours of 16 January 2022 when the victim was about to ride home on his scooter. Adeyemi, visibly intoxicated, approached and started hurling insults at him. The victim’s daughter, leaving work at the KFC, was also targeted, enduring insults and having her arm grabbed by Adeyemi.
Violence Escalates as Adeyemi Delivers Brutal Punches
Stepping in to protect his daughter, the victim pushed Adeyemi away. In response, Adeyemi landed a heavy punch to the victim’s face, knocking him to the ground. As the victim tried to get up, Adeyemi struck again, causing multiple facial fractures, cuts, and a haemorrhage to his right eye.
Quick Police Response Leads to Arrest and Guilty Plea
Adeyemi fled to a nearby flat but was swiftly arrested after the victim’s daughter called the police. Despite claiming self-defence during police questioning, Adeyemi was charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) and later pleaded guilty at Guildford Crown Court.
Sentence: Adeyemi received a 12-month jail term, serving justice for a violent, drunken rampage outside a popular fast-food joint.
