Violent thug jailed for 21 months after punching, strangling cops and pushing them down stairs

Michael Noble’s violent rampage

Michael Noble, 33, from Leek, has been locked up for 21 months after attacking two police officers during a furious incident in April. It all kicked off when officers were called to remove Noble from a property after he refused to leave.

Assault on the frontline

When two officers tried to get Noble out, he went berserk. He punched them and repeatedly put his hands around their necks. The violence escalated when he shoved both officers down a flight of stairs.

Unstoppable bravery

Despite the savage attack, the officers didn’t back down and managed to cuff the offender. But the nightmare wasn’t over — on the way to custody, Noble bit another officer.

Justice served at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court

Noble was sentenced on 5 July at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court for assaulting emergency workers, intentional strangulation, and assault causing actual bodily harm.

Chief Inspector John Owen said: “This was a violent incident where our officers have been attacked whilst serving the local community. Our officers work tirelessly to protect the public and keep our streets safe on a daily basis. They do not deserve to be treated like this.”

“I’d like to recognise their commitment to protecting the public and the bravery they showed to continue apprehending this offender despite his violent attempts to avoid justice. These officers will continue to be offered the right support to make sure they can continue protecting the public which they proudly serve.”
