Aberdeen Man Jailed for Horrific Child Sex Attacks
Michael Taylor, 71, from Aberdeen, was locked up at Edinburgh High Court on Friday. He was found guilty of serious sexual assaults and indecent acts against five children aged 6 to 12 between March and October 2020.
Brave Victim Sparks Full Police Probe
The investigation kicked off after one victim bravely reported Taylor in September 2020. Specialist detectives swooped soon after, arresting him on multiple sexual crime charges. These ranged from possession of indecent images to rape, performing sexual acts, and grievous sexual assault.
‘Sexual Predator’ Exploited Defenceless Kids
Taylor pleaded guilty on 25 February 2021. Detective Inspector Karen Main slammed him as a “sexual predator who preyed on vulnerable young children, manipulating and abusing them for his own twisted gratification.”
“Despite the horrific ordeal they endured, these children showed immense courage in speaking out,” said DI Main. “Their bravery was vital in bringing Taylor to justice.”
Police Vow to Support Victims and Hunt Offenders
DI Main added: “This sentencing sends a clear message that offenders will be held to account. We are committed to supporting victims of sexual crimes and urge anyone with concerns to come forward. They will receive full support from officers and our partner agencies.”
She also praised the dedicated team of officers who cracked the case.
