Shop Assault Horror: Man Grops Little Girl in Nottingham Store
Matthew Harrison, 32, has been jailed after sexually assaulting a young girl while she was shopping with her dad in Mansfield Road, Nottingham.
Deceptive Move in Store
The pervert, who was working in the shop, lured the primary school-aged girl away by pretending to help her find a favourite treat. Once isolated, he touched her twice before sending her back to her father.
The terrified child bravely told her parents what happened, triggering a police investigation.
Caught on CCTV and Sent Down
Officers from Nottinghamshire Police arrested Harrison, searched his Netherfield home, and found extensive evidence of his twisted sexual interest in children.
Harrison confessed to two counts of sexual assault by touching. CCTV footage captured the vile acts.
Justice Served
On Thursday at Nottingham Crown Court, Harrison was sentenced to three years in prison plus five years on licence. He was also slapped with a sexual harm prevention order to monitor his behaviour after release.
“This was an appalling incident that caused significant upset to the victim and her family,” said Detective Constable Kirsty Ford.
“Harrison was fully aware of what he was doing and must now live with the consequences. I also want to commend the victim’s parents for their strength throughout this traumatic ordeal.”
“We take these offences seriously. When reported, we act fast to arrest suspects, investigate thoroughly, and make sure justice is done.”
