Unanimous Jury Convicts High on All Counts
On 31 October 2023, a jury at Luton Crown Court delivered a unanimous guilty verdict against High, convicting him on every charge.
67-Year-Old Sentenced to 16 Years and Lifetime Sex Offenders Register
High, now 67, was sentenced on 9 April 2024 to 16 years in prison. He was also placed on the sex offenders register for life, ensuring he remains under strict supervision.
Detective Praises Victims’ Bravery, Calls on Others to Speak Out
Detective Sergeant Rachael Cheney of the Medway Vulnerability Investigation Team condemned High as “a despicable individual” who abused vulnerable victims for years.
“I would like to thank both victims, who showed incredible courage in coming forward and then giving evidence at court,” said Cheney. “Their abuser is now behind bars, and we hope they can begin to heal.”
Cheney urged anyone affected by sexual abuse to report it, stressing, “It is never too late to report an offence. This helps bring perpetrators of abuse against vulnerable young victims to justice.”
