Son Stabs Mum in Shocking Bus Stop Attack
David Sosa Salomon brutally stabbed his own mother several times last February in a chilling attack that shocked the community.
Waited to Pounce Near Pub
The 37-year-old drove from his caravan home in Oldmixon Crescent, Weston-super-Mare, to Filton on the afternoon of Tuesday 28 February 2023. He lurked near a local pub on Filton Avenue, waiting for his mother to get off her regular bus stop.
As she stepped off the bus, Salomon launched his knife attack. But quick-thinking members of the public rushed to her aid, forcing him to drop the weapon.
Public Heroes & Swift Justice
Witnesses called the police immediately, and officers arrested Salomon at the scene.
During the December trial at bristol/" title="Bristol" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Bristol Crown Court, jurors heard how the public’s intervention saved the woman from further harm. Salomon admitted wounding with intent but was convicted of attempted murder by the jury last year.
“I am so grateful to those brave strangers who stepped in to protect me,” said the victim. The judge also praised their actions during sentencing.
Nearly Two Decades Behind Bars
David Sosa Salomon was sentenced on Friday 9 February to 19 years in prison for the horrific stabbing.
