Monster Jailed for 22 Years After Brutal Attack on Vulnerable Woman

Brian Brough, a no-fixed-abode offender, has been locked up for 22 years at Minshull Street Crown Court. He was found guilty of multiple horrific crimes including vaginal rape, oral rape, attempted anal rape, burglary with violence, and a serious assault causing grievous bodily harm.

Horrific Home Invasion in Little Hulton

On the evening of 19 March 2021, Brough knocked on the door of a vulnerable 60-year-old woman in Little Hulton, claiming to be a relative of a neighbour and asking to use the toilet. Once inside, he shocked his victim by revealing he was an escort and demanded payment for sex.

When she refused, Brough exposed himself, forced her to perform oral sex, and ruthlessly assaulted her after she fought back. He dragged the terrified woman by her hair to the bedroom, where he repeatedly raped and battered her until she lost consciousness multiple times.

Neighbour’s Quick Action Raises Alarm

The victim woke the next morning unable to call for help—her phone and glasses were missing. It was only after her dog escaped and was returned by a neighbour who saw her injuries that police were alerted. At hospital, she was treated for broken jaws, facial wounds, and missing teeth.

Hard-Hitting Police Statement

Detective Constable Leanne Jackson of GMP said: “This was a horrific and sustained physical and sexual assault on a vulnerable woman. No one should feel unsafe in their own home.

“Brough showed zero remorse, refusing to accept responsibility or even attend his trial, forcing his victim through this ordeal alone. Thankfully, we have taken him off the streets for 22 years to protect others.”

“I also want to thank the victim’s neighbours who acted quickly to get help and commend the woman’s bravery throughout this painful process. Any victim of sexual assault should come forward—police will treat every report seriously and provide support.”
