Cash, Baseball Bat & Cloned Keys: Dorset Man Busted in Rural Crime Crackdown
A suspicious vehicle in Shaftesbury sparked a major police stop near Hurn on Monday, 2 January 2023.
Armed Unit Stops Vehicle, Finds Stolen Goods
Dorset Police’s firearms team, although unarmed during the stop, pulled over a car on Matchams Lane after a tip-off from the Rural Crime Team.
Inside, officers discovered a haul of cash, a baseball bat, and what appear to be cloned vehicle keys along with cloning equipment.
Wimborne Man Arrested in Growing Burglary Probe
A 21-year-old man from Wimborne was taken into custody on suspicion of carrying an offensive weapon and possessing items prepared for theft. He’s also linked to criminal property offences.
Further investigations revealed his suspected involvement in 11 non-dwelling burglaries and two fraud cases across Dorset, spanning June to December 2022.
The man is now on police bail as inquiries continue.
