Ex-Cop David Carrick Faces 44 Sex Crime Charges
Police officer David Carrick stands accused of an appalling 44 sexual offences, including 21 counts of rape, stretching over 17 years. His trial kicks off at Southwark Crown Court on February 6, 2023, and is expected to last eight weeks.
Horrific Allegations Unveiled
The 47-year-old, once an armed officer, appeared via video link from Belmarsh prison at Snaresbrook Crown Court. He confirmed his identity and denied 15 new charges, which include:
- 8 counts of rape
- 2 counts of assault by penetration
- 4 counts of sexual assault
- Attempted rape against five women
Among the chilling claims, Carrick is accused of raping a woman in the woods and degrading her by urinating on her and beating her with a belt. He has already denied 29 other charges relating to abuse from March 2004 to September 2020.

Some victims were reportedly repeatedly raped, sexually assaulted, and forced into degrading sex acts by Carrick, who served with the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command on the parliamentary estate. One woman was allegedly locked in a cupboard under the stairs.
Judge Highlights Consent as Key Issue
“This is a substantial trial of very serious criminal charges. The issue in the case is going to centrally consent in respect of the dozen complainants,” said Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb.
