Met Police Officer Busted Over Child Exploitation Charges

PC Darren Hourigan, a cop from the South Area Command Unit, has been charged following a probe by the Met’s Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse team, backed by the Directorate of Professional Standards.

Arrest and Investigation Details

Hourigan was arrested back in March 2020. Initially bailed, he was later released under investigation as the case built up.

Charges and Court Date

On Wednesday, 21 September, PC Hourigan was officially charged by postal requisition. He’s set to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court 1 on Tuesday, 18 October.

Suspended Ahead of Charges

Before the charges came down, PC Hourigan was suspended from duty.
