Thomas Patton Caught at Newcastle Airport After Dodging Police
Evaded Police Before Arrest
Thomas Patton from Pallister Park knew the police wanted to question him but kept clear of them—until last October 16, when officers finally caught him arriving at Newcastle Airport.
Charged with Multiple Assaults and Coercion
After being interviewed, Patton faced serious charges: three counts of assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH), two common assaults, intimidation, and coercive controlling behaviour.
Denied Claims but Convicted at Trial
In November, Patton pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody ahead of a two-day trial in March. However, the jury found him guilty of all seven offences.
Sentenced to Three and a Half Years Plus Restraining Order
This week, Patton was sentenced to three and a half years behind bars. On top of that, he must obey a five-year restraining order designed to keep him in check once released.
