Predator from Folkestone Jailed for Brutal Child Rapes
Stephen Dowle, a 42-year-old from Folkestone, has been slammed with a 24-year prison sentence for 12 horrific offences, including 11 counts of rape against two young girls dating back to 2000. He must also serve an extra four years on licence following his trial at Canterbury Crown Court.
How the Abuse Came to Light
The nightmare began to unravel in 2017 when Dowle’s first victim, now an adult, alerted kent-police/" title="Kent Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Kent Police, fearing he was targeting another child. This brave step forced a police probe that unearthed even darker secrets.
Investigators discovered Dowle had manipulated the second victim with chilling tactics, telling her to keep quiet and promising chocolate as a twisted reward.

“The abuse Dowle subjected his victims to is abhorrent and he clearly poses a significant risk to children,” said DC Claire Baker.
She praised the victims’ courage: “I thank the victims for their co-operation and their bravery in speaking out. I hope this result encourages any victims of abuse to come forward and report it. Anyone suffering should tell someone they trust so they can get the help and support they deserve.”
