Shoplifter Snags £3,000 Haul Before Getting Banged Up
Emma Nicholas, 36, of London Road, Portsmouth, was sentenced to eight months behind bars at Portsmouth Crown Court on Friday 21 April. She was charged with a string of crimes including seven counts of theft, one count of fraud, and an assault causing actual bodily harm.
Rampage of Thefts Across Lymington
Between 25 January and 22 February, Nicholas made a spree of grab-and-go raids at various stores:
- Stole a £1,200 antique clock from Dials Antique Clocks, Quay Hill, Lymington on 25 January
- Snatched a £200 hair appliance from Jack & The Wolfe, Quay Hill, Lymington on the same day
- Shoplifted from The White Stuff, Lymington High Street, during which a female staffer in her 40s was assaulted
- Pinched a wallet from Costa Coffee, Lymington High Street, then fraudulently used the cards inside
- Swiped handbags worth £1,260 from Stanwells Ltd, Lymington High Street
Caught Red-Handed on CCTV
Police quickly zeroed in on Nicholas after spotting her on several CCTV cameras tied to the thefts and fraud.

Following the courtroom verdict, Nicholas was handed a total jail term of eight months for her crime spree.
