Lawrence Neeley Locked Up for Violent Abuse
Lawrence Neeley has been sentenced to two years and eight months behind bars after a savage spree of violence against a pregnant woman last year. Between August and September 2022, the terrified victim endured repeated attacks and threats.
Shocking Attacks Left Victim Bruised and Bleeding
Neeley’s brutal assaults included throwing an axe at the woman’s stomach and swinging it at her arm, causing serious bruising. Horrifically, he also cut her chin with a knife and headbutted her during the series of violent attacks.
Victim’s Silent Plea for Help Leads to Arrest
The 48-year-old was finally arrested on September 5 after the victim secretly mouthed ‘help’ to staff at a maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone bank. Neeley appeared at Maidstone Crown Court, where he pleaded guilty to causing actual bodily harm, assault by beating, resisting a police officer, and cocaine possession.
Detective Hails Justice and Police Support for Victims
“Neeley showed no regard for the safety or emotional welfare of his victim or her unborn child,” said Detective Constable Jozeph Yandle. “It is right he serves a prison sentence. I hope this brings her some comfort.”
DC Yandle added Kent Police takes violence against women and girls very seriously, with over 900 officers dedicated to investigating abuse and supporting victims through welfare calls, referrals, and refuge services.
