Rugby Man Nabbed with £3,500 Cash and Stash of Cocaine
Craig Gallagher’s drug dealing days came to an abrupt end last May when Rugby Proactive CID swooped on his home in Dyson Close. Officers uncovered over £3,500 in cash, mobile phones, and a haul of drugs including Xanax tablets and more than 80g of cocaine.
Charged and Locked Up for Cocaine Supply
The 45-year-old was arrested on the spot and hit with multiple charges: being concerned in the supply of cocaine, possession with intent to supply class A (cocaine), and class C controlled drugs. At Warwick Crown Court on 12 January, Gallagher pleaded guilty and was slammed with a 32-month prison sentence.
Police Crack Down on Drug Crime
Detective Constable Becky Naughton said, “Although this is Gallagher’s first offence, the severity of the sentence shows just how seriously drug crimes are treated by us and the courts.”
She added, “We hope he uses his time in prison to reflect and turn his life around. Drugs cause misery not just for users but also for communities.”
The police have launched a confiscation investigation to seize any profits Gallagher made from his criminal activities.
Warning to Drug Dealers Across Rugby
DC Naughton vowed, “We will proactively target anyone involved in the drug trade and use all powers available to disrupt their activity.”
She concluded, “Our team is pleased with this conviction and hopes it sends a clear message to anyone trying to cash in on drugs. We will continue to investigate thoroughly and protect our communities from harm.”
