Police Storm Kids’ Scouting Play – And Kids Fight Back!
The ‘Kampinosi’ scout group were mid-scene from Polish film Jacek i Placek when the City North Operation Reacher team crashed the party – literally.
As two scouts pretended to nick gold medals, cops burst in and ‘locked them up’ in a playful raid. But the kids weren’t out of moves yet.
Scouts Turn Tables on Nottinghamshire Cops
After the mock arrest, the Polish scouts quizzed officers about their lives on the beat at Nottinghamshire Police. The fun didn’t stop there.
Kids Get Hands-On With Police Gear
- About 30 children aged 7-11 got behind the wheel of a police car.
- They dressed up in helmets and hi-vis jackets, posing for snaps with officers.
- They even handled riot shields and other official kit – stepping into a cop’s shoes for the day.
The event, held at Edwards Lane Community Centre in Sherwood on Monday 13 March, ended with the scouts taking home a swag of Nottinghamshire Police-branded goodies.
PC John Cross: “Best Scouting Meeting Ever!”
“It’s brilliant to engage with young people like this, whether in schools or community centres,” said PC John Cross from the City North Operation Reacher team.
“Building strong relationships with the public and changing how people see officers is key to our work.”
“The kids absolutely loved it – they called it their best ‘Zbiórka’ ever!”
