Met Police Officer Charged Over Teen Assault

PC Paul Bewsey, of the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command, has been charged following an incident in Essex. The charge comes after an investigation by Essex Police into an altercation on 21 April in Hanging Hill Lane, Brentwood, where a 14-year-old boy was assaulted.

Legal Action Underway

PC Bewsey was charged by postal requisition on Friday, 21 October. He is set to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 24 November.

Met Police Responds

The Metropolitan Police’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been notified. Meanwhile, PC Bewsey has been placed on restricted duties pending further investigation.
