Investigators uncovered 60 Category A images and videos on one device, showing the most serious sexual offences against children. Banton faced multiple charges and was released on police bail as the probe continued.
Shock Confession During Routine Visit
Nine months later, during a monitoring check, Banton confessed to downloading and viewing thousands more indecent images. A detailed examination of his phone revealed almost 17,000 illegal pictures, including over 200 Category A images.
Jailed for 33 Months at Nottingham Crown Court
From his Daybrook home on Byron Street, Banton pleaded guilty to six counts of making indecent images of children, plus three more counts and assaulting an emergency worker in 2022. He was sentenced to 33 months behind bars.
