Predator Sentenced for Horrific Rape Attacks in Sheffield
Fazan Bahder, 34, from Heeley, has been slammed with a 21-year jail term after a chilling Sheffield Crown Court trial. The convicted sex offender targeted two women, using drugs and brutal violence to carry out his sickening crimes.
Drugged and Raped After Meeting at Off-Licence
Bahder’s first victim was just 17 when he met her outside a local off-licence store. He plied her with drugs before dragging her to his home where he raped her. The brave young woman managed to escape and flagged down two officers on patrol to report the attack.
Second Victim Attacked with Brutality
His second victim was invited to his house, where Bahder violently punched and tried to strangle her. He threatened to stab her before raping her. Like the first victim, she escaped and alerted police, who then took her to hospital for treatment.
Conviction After Denial, Brutal Truth Emerges
Arrested in October 2020, Bahder denied all charges. But after a 10-day trial, he was found guilty of two counts of rape, one count of oral rape, sexual assault by penetration, plus multiple drug possession charges involving Class A substances and cannabis.
On Friday 24 February, the judge handed down a hefty 21-year sentence.
“Bahder forced himself on these women for his own gratification, using drugs and violence as a weapon. These women have had their lives turned upside down due to his actions, and I hope this sentence marks the beginning for them putting this awful ordeal behind them,” said Detective Sergeant Stephanie Phoenix, who led the investigation.
“No man should ever take advantage of a woman and it is our ongoing priority as a force that we will not tolerate this behaviour. If you or someone you know has been a victim of sexual abuse or violence, please know that it is not your fault. It is the offender who is to blame. Please report to us so we can support you, investigate and bring offenders to justice.”
