Black Volvo sparks police pursuit
Officers on patrol spotted a black Volvo on New House Lane at 11.13pm on Tuesday, 30 April 2024. The vehicle caught their eye, prompting a follow to South Hill Road.
Drugs and cash seized
The car was stopped, and a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act turned up 28 bags of cocaine, cannabis, cash, and two mobile phones. A man was immediately arrested on the scene.
Man charged with serious drug offences
James Bignell, 32, from Gumley Road, Essex, was charged the next day with possession of cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply. He is also accused of possessing criminal property linked to the seized cash.
Remanded in custody ahead of court hearing
Bignell was remanded in custody and will appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 2 May.
