Rogue Roofing Trader Busted in Maidstone Scam
Roofing Rip-Off Hits Elderly Victims
A suspected rogue trader has been charged after a dodgy roofing scam in Maidstone. Between 20 and 25 March 2020, the man repeatedly visited an elderly couple’s home on Woolley Road. He claimed their roof had missing tiles that needed urgent replacing.
The victims reportedly paid the scammer. But no work was ever done.
Suspect Nabbed and Charged
On 30 March, 31-year-old Paddy Dorin from Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire, was arrested. He now faces charges of fraud by false representation and driving without insurance.
Justice on the Horizon
Dorin was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 1 April. Authorities hope this bust sends a clear warning to rogue traders preying on the vulnerable.
