Kent Police Crack Down on String of High Street Thefts
Kent Police are probing a rash of thefts in the town centre that rocked local retailers over the past month.
Perfume Pilfering Hits Fenwick and More
On 7 October 2023, Fenwick in Royal Victoria Place was targeted, with several perfume bottles stolen. Shockingly, the department store was hit again on 31 October when more perfume disappeared. On that same day, a brazen attempt was made to nick items from The Perfume Store.
Other Thefts Include Boots and Tesco Christmas Trees
The West Kent Victim Based Crime Team also investigated thefts from Boots and the bizarre case of stolen Christmas trees from Tesco on Pembury Road.
Man Arrested and Charged Over Multiple Thefts
Thomas Robertson, 58, of London Road, Southborough, Tunbridge Wells, was arrested on 18 November. He now faces four counts of theft and one attempted theft. Robertson has been bailed to appear at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on 11 December.
