A suspected thief is to appear in court charged in connection with shoplifting in Ramsgate

Shoplifter Busted After Multiple Theft Spree in Ramsgate

Alanah Huggins, 35, from St Mary’s Road, Minster, Ramsgate, was hit with serious charges on Thursday 24 June 2021. She faces four counts of theft, a public order offence, and common assault.

Theft Spree Across Thanet

The Thanet Victim Based Crime Team cracked the case after reports of stolen goods from several shops. Ms Huggins allegedly took items without paying from stores on York Street, St Lawrence High Street, Grange Road, and a petrol station in West Cliff Road – all on Saturday 19 June.

Violence and Verbal Abuse Erupt During Grange Road Robbery

During the Grange Road incident, store staff endured verbal abuse, and one person was even assaulted, adding assault charges to Ms Huggins’ list.

Custody and Court Date Set

Ms Huggins was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Friday 25 June. The community watches closely as the case unfolds.
